Lia Anderson was born and raised in Germany in the Northern Bavarian town called Herzogenaurach. Growing up she became fascinated with folk art and in her later years studied Bavarian folk art extensively. Many of the works she studied date back to the 15th century and were painted on traditional boxes from all over Europe. Each box Lia paints in Schachteln Boxes reflects the traditional colors and designs of a particular region. She has included patterns from these boxes to help illustrate the designs that were painted several hundred years ago. Pass these designs on to future generations and have fun decorating boxes that can be both useful and beautiful home accessories.
