GARDNER, MRS. SHELLY Grand Haven, Michigan Shelly J. Gardner finished her travels on Earth on Monday November 8, 1999 and began her journey through the Heavens. Shelly is the daughter of Charles and Doris Tufts. She graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1959. She shared 38 years of marriage with Gerald Eugene Gardner, and together they had three children, Kristen, Thomas, and Heather. Close to her heart she holds her younger brother, Greg, and her granddaughter, Nicole. Shelly is talented in many areas. She has gained international recognition in decorative painting, as both an artist and teacher. Shelly served as a design consultant for the John Widdicomb Furniture Company. Her love endures in the hearts of all who remember her. With paint on your face, we shall miss you. Special thanks to Hospice of North Ottawa Community for allowing the family to share Shelly's transition with grace, dignity and peace. The funeral service for Shelly will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Eric Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
