Conté Pierre Noir Sketching Pencils

The Conté Pierre Noir (black) sketching pencils are made from compressed chalk and graphite and are exceptionally smooth. Sold in graduations of 2B, HB, and H.

• 2B = lower percentage of clay as compared with graphite. Soft, dark mark.
• HB = between H (hard) and 2B (soft).
• H = higher concentration of clay than graphite. Harder, lighter mark.

Conté Crayons

Use the "flat edge" of the crayon by varying the pressure or hold it slightly slanted on its eight angles to increase the effects. The Conté crayon is perfectly mixable with the whole range of Conté a Paris as well as oil and acrylic colors.
